Customer Rating: Summary: Kindle Customer ServiceComment: The Kindle was a Christmas gift and after spending a significant amount of time trying to get the Kindle to stay in this cover, I gave up and called Kindle CS. I explained the problems that I was having and I was told that the cover was designed for protection and NOT to be used when reading. Interesting, since page 12 of the Kindle guide describes "Reading with the Cover On". He said that he could send me another cover but that it would not work any differently and suggested that I "search" Amazon and find one that's right for me. WHAT??!! $359 dollars and I should buy another case! The Kindle designers, Kindle Customer Service and Jeff Bezos should read the reviews on this case. Customers considering purchasing a Kindle should demand a better case to protect their investment.Customer Rating: Summary: Original Cover is more then enough, not sure why people rate it so bad...Comment: I will say this is not a perfect cover, but I have not had all the issues other people have mentioned. Sure, it could hold it better, but then would you have access to the switches and rear cover as well?.
I just cannot understand why folks would rate it so bad, if I have not experienced what they have. I use my Kindle almost every day, it does not fall out become inaccessible. Perhaps it is just in understanding what the cover is, not sure. But if some people find it useful and not a "cheap" or "beta" item then it must be in the application of the item by the other users. If it is as bad as they claim, wouldn't everyone have the same issues? I can understand not using it right or in circumstances where it used in ways it was not intended, but how does that cause a bad review?
Just wish folks would use more sense it writing reviews. Saying the item is crap or sucks, is kind of out of line. Saying "I do not like it or cannot use it for what I need" is better, everyone is allowed opinions, but stating the item is crap, eh, that would be an unqualified opinion and uncalled for.Customer Rating: Summary: Worthless itemComment: I wish I could say that I like this cover, but I don't. My Kindle will not stay in it. I am really not even sure what it is suppose to do, other than protect it while it is closed.
Customer Rating: Summary: A piece of garbage not worthy of the KindleComment: This cover is garbage. It doesn't work at all unless you want to stick velcro on your Kindle or pull the elastic over to cover the lower right corner (which quickly stretches it out.)It's ugly too (vinyl over cardboard). Save your money and buy one of the third party covers available. They are beautiful, durable and actually do their job of protecting the Kindle and keeping it secure. Amazon should be ashamed of themselves for producing this trash. The Amazon is an amazing device and deserves better.Customer Rating: Summary: The Kindle Cover Works PerfectlyComment: The Kindle cover does exactly what it is designed to do.....hold the Kindle firmly in place. I am one of those boring people who reads the manual before using a new device.I had read the the Kindle cover was worthless. Not so! The cover has a plastic tab on the inside near the spine that clicks into the groove found on the left side of the back of the Kindle. The Kindle is held firmly in place and does NOT fall out when properly inserted in the cover as per the manual.
