Editorial Reviews:
The OMRON HJ112 Premium Pedometer is a fun and useful way to quantify all that great "burn" you're feeling. Great for use while jogging! 1 mfg. year warranty
Spotlight customer reviews:
Customer Rating: Summary: It would be perfect if it were waterproofComment: This is everything I want it to be. The problem is really user related. It is great that it works inside the pocket but it is so easy to forget to take the pedometer out of your pocket before we put our pants in the laundry. It sometimes takes a few washings without a problem but eventually, they fail. What does it mean when you put a battery inside a hot dryer? Nothing has happened so far but I wonder about it. I have replaced four pedometers so far. Otherwise, it's a great incentive and reliable so I continue to replace it.Customer Rating: Summary: Best One Out ThereComment: My husband is a board certified Family Practice Physician. I manage his medical practice. We offer medically supervised weight loss programs through our office and every one that goes through the program gets the Omron HJ-112! Dr. Armistead personally used this prior to us starting our weight loss programs and did so after MUCH research as always on all the pedometers out there!! Highly recommended in my & Dr. Armistead's opinion!!
Customer Rating: Summary: Reliable productComment: This is my second Omron Pedometer bought in 2008. I have not only used it myself but have liked it enough to gift it to a friend, and have recommended it to others.
Simple, straightforward to use, reliable and consistent.
The only drawback is for people like me who like to walk and run. Because the calculation of the distance is based on number of steps, if the step is any shorter or longer, it does not really compensate for that. Once you've setup step length - thats the basis of calculation.
2 step settings would have helped!Customer Rating: Summary: Better then othersComment: This is my third pedometer purchased. The others were too sensitive to position and either didn't measure steps or counted them twice. The 112 is intuitive to use and appears to be quite accurate. It is far superior to other brands I have ownedCustomer Rating: Summary: Solid ProductComment: Work's great! I wish I had something more insightful to say, however I bought this as a gift for my wife, and she's been the primary user 99.9% of the time. That said, I have used it once to count my steps in a typical work day and was impressed that the predicted distance that I cover matched up very near my own estimation (basically, I guessed that from my parking space to my cubicle is about 1/4 mile, and that's about how many steps the pedometer displayed).
